This 2-hour course is designed to familiarise employees in the safe use of an emergency evacuation chair to assist less mobile colleagues from a building during a fire alarm or other emergency.

The course will cover the assembly of the chair, safety checks before use, assisting a colleague to the chair, moving the chair on a flat surface, transporting someone down stairs in the chair and assisting them once in a safe space.

This course is limited to a maximum of 6 people per session to ensure maximum practical time for everyone.

We can also offer a 4-hour version of this course for staff who have been identified with the potential to train others in the use of this equipment. The course will cover all the core content as above, plus an overview of training techniques, the use of exercises & activities, assessing the safe use of the chair and giving constructive feedback to learners.

Certificates are valid for 3 years.
